Free contributions to a wishlist can be used to fund the purchase of both normal and crowdfunded wishlist items.
To fund a normal or crowdfunded item with a free contribution amount, first send the amount to the wallet (see this article for how to). Then from the wallet, credit the item with the amount (See this article or this for how to).
